A history check is the cheapest insurance in used-car buying. Before you view a car, run its registration: the check pulls the vehicle's recorded history from finance, insurance and DVLA sources and flags anything that should stop the sale.
What a check covers
Outstanding finance, write-off categories, stolen-vehicle registers, mileage discrepancies against previous MOTs, import/export status, and the scrappage record. A clean result still isn't a guarantee — it's a list of the knowns.
