Part-exchange

Last updated:

Part-exchanging settles your current car against the price of your next one in a single transaction — no private sale, no gap between cars. Dealers usually offer slightly under retail value for the speed and certainty.

How it works

Get an Indexa valuation for your car, then take it to the dealer alongside the car you're buying. The dealer inspects it and confirms a figure, usually within the valuation range. The amount is deducted from the price of your next car.

Getting the best figure

A full service history, both keys and a current MOT move valuations up more than any cosmetic touch. Outstanding finance must be settled — most dealers handle the settlement as part of the exchange.
